show and tell

the controller -if I go 1000 amps @ 340 volts I will get 300 kw(400 hp) at this time I will keep it to a modest 150volts and 400 amps. It was a lot larger than first thought and as for where to put it at this point on the old motor mount(east/west direction) with the electric motor frame tucked under it both on rubber mounts to soften the bumps.
This is some of the 47 batteries each 3.2 volts and small in size.
Just to show you that they are powerful a YouTube clip did a test on one similar battery and it made a spanner get red hot with 800+ amps @ 3 volts and I have 150volts I must be very careful where I put a spanner!
The naked bedford The paint was past it so I took it back to metal so I can have the paint look good a little bit longer. I was going to put the batteries under the deck or in a tool box on the deck and have decided to make a headboard with them in it and since they are only 143mm wide it will look normal.

Update

I have been pricing a few things lately the vacuum pumps range from just the pump at $150us to akit with the tank switch etc for$400us then ive seen this http://m.summitracing.com/parts/sum-760152 for $270us look good so far. The batteries are changing to lithium iron I got a price of $6000nz for lead acid and i will only get 500 ish charges where as if i go life04 batteries for 1/3 more in price i get 5000 charges i will just have to change my spending to save faster while doing the rest of the work. I was informed that i will need about $800 for the cert so i can drive on the road the down side is the closest testing place is 200 km away so i will need to freight it there and back more$$$ by no means is doing this to save money i could have bought a cheap car and been better off but as i tell pepole "if someone can put a v8 in a mini why can i not put a electric motor in a truck" :)

The batteries

i have found that the blog is done last to first i had been putting the the time around so it read like a book first to last and have desided to leave it alone so hence the change. I was trying to think about the layout of the batteries the pack will be about 900mm x 1400mm so do i put the pack 900 across the deck or 1400 across the deck
900 seems the best option it will keep the weight close to the trucks center less sway going around corners. and later i will up grade the batteries to lithium not lead acid

So far so good

I found out how to do this, The truck is a 1969 J1 Bedford that needs tlc it's weight 2140kg

The strip down

First the deck had to go the wood was past used by date and the steel was not far behind come to think of it it will need rewiring to 40 year old wire will not work to good

then the ice went

I put an add on trade me and a nice man got it cheap it cost him 1/3 of the freight cost and it weighted 310kg
Now to get 40 years of oil off the metal and do some rust work
